This week on the Keeping Busy Show we have some great recommendations to keep you occupied for the next week including some family friendly theatre with the Old Vic and for all the budding artists out there some water colour classes with a local artist.
As we get further into lockdown and all the uncertainty that comes with it, we sometimes need a reminder to take care of ourselves. Exercise is of course part of that but sometimes we need to just take time for our mental health. The Soul Spa run many different classes via zoom, including a class to help you focus your mind and one that can help you switch off at the end of a busy day. More details can be found here.
Following on from last week when we talked about some great books and podcasts that can help us learn more about systemic racism and the Black Lives Matter Movement, BBC sounds have the audio version of Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo. The 2019 Booker Prize winning novel follows the lives of twelve extraordinary characters. A wonderful book if you are looking to read more from BAME authors. Abridged by Patricia Cumper and read by Pippa Bennett-Warner. Have a listen here
As part of Bristol Arts Channel, Bristol Old Vic are featuring five acclaimed productions which will run from 29th of May to 3rd of July. This week is Mr Maglump a magical musical for all ages. Only available to the 19th of June so you had better get watching!
Recipe of the week:
There is literally nothing I love more than cheese! It is the ultimate comfort food and with this weather still being slightly wet and gloomy I decided I needed something cheesy and carb loaded. I found this recipe for cheesey stuffed garlic doughballs and I knew I needed it. I reckon you guys will love it too! Here’s a link to the recipe and have a look for the ingredients below.
- 50g butter, cubed
- 300g Strong white bread flour
- 7g Satchet fast-action dried yeast
- 1tbsp caster sugar
- 200g block mozzarella, cut into 1 and a half cm cubes
For the Garlic Butter
- 100g butter
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 Rosemary sprig, leaves picked and finely chopped
